Festival Application and Information

The following Festival application and information below is only for this Festival. Below you will also find rules put together by the LaKermesse Festival that will be enforced by both me and the Festival Committee. The following will be supplied to the first thirty applicants. After the Thirty are met you will have to provide your own tables and chairs, parking and festival passes. Each pass will cost $8, parking passes will be $9 if ordered with your application. The following will be supplied: 1. General lighting and power near each table in the tent. Space renters must supply their own extension cords if needed. 2. A space approximately 8 ft. wide by 6 ft. deep (some spaces may have the center posts in the depth). 3. One (1) table and two (2) chairs are included in the price of space rental for the first 30 applicants.

Please read the application carefully and note any special needs you may have so that we can properly address them prior to your arrival on the field. Space rental is on a first come first serve basis , so please send in your application paid in full as soon as possible. Applications must be postmarked no later than May 20, 2007. As in years past, your application must be paid in full in order for us to reserve your space as space is very limited this year.

Passes: In order to save time this year, included in the price of the Craft Tent Space Rental are: one (1) crafter festival admission pass and one (1) parking pass for one vehicle at the adjoining Waterhouse Field for the first 30 applicants. Additional festival passes for $8.00 can be purchased with your application or during setup. Also add any additional parking passes at Waterhouse field per vehicle (cars & regular trucks) @ $9 for the weekend. Truck campers, box trucks, RVs, motor homes can be accommodated at Waterhouse field but the fee for parking is $50 for box trucks and $100 for motorhomes, RVs, truck campers. Make sure you let me know so we can accomodate you. If you wait you may have to park in another area.

Times: La Kermesse Festival Rules Times for setting up your booth is as follows: Friday 11AM-3PM, All vehicles must be off the field by 2:30pm and spaces should be manned and ready for business by 4:00pm when the gates open for the night. The Craft Tent operating hours are: Friday 4:00pm - 10:00pm, Saturday 11:00am - 10:00pm and Sunday 11:00am - 7:00pm. You and/or your coworkers are responsible in setting-up your booth/space on Friday and tearing down on Sunday night. We ask that someone be at your space/booth during operating hours. This policy will be strictly enforced. The Prospect St. service gate, which is located behing the Craft Tent, will open on Sunday night between 7:30 and 9:00pm for crafters’ convenience. All your trash must be removed from your space before you leave. Applications are for the three days no packing up before the end of the festival.

Parking: There is parking available in various locations near the festival grounds, some on the streets, on Waterhouse Field (football Field), Kennedy School. Other than the one (1) parking space reserved with your application fee, vendors are responsible for additional parking and lodging. Please visit our website for a list of local motels, etc.

Location: We are located off Rt. 95, exit 34 in Biddeford. After toll go straight through the lights. Pass JJ Nissen. At the next light take a left onto Rt. 1. Travel approximately 1 mile, take a right onto West Street. Festival grounds are located ¼ mile on the left.

Rules: 1. No mobile homes, travel trailers or vehicles will be used as part of a concession unless specifically designed for that use and must be approved by the festival committee. There is no vehicle parking on the field, but parking is available in the surrounding areas. 2. Each concessionaire will be responsible for any licenses and inspection fees. Each concessionaire will be subject to inspection by the State of Maine for cleanliness and safety. 3. All workers are required to purchase an admission button to the festival beyond the crafter pass provided by La Kermesse. 4. La Kermesse reserves the right to determine suitability of sale and display. 5. All workers will be properly attired with shirts and shoes. 6. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD EXCEPT IN POSTED AREAS. La Kermesse has the right to have anyone removed from the festival grounds if he/she is found to be using drugs or alcohol while working on the field. 7. No pets allowed on the festival grounds, unless prior authorization is requested and granted by La Kermesse. 8. La Kermesse has the exclusive rights to its logo and cannot be used without our express permission on any items for display. 9. No selling of lighters, pocket knifes, or any items related to illegal substances will be allowed. 10. No yard sale or flea market merchandise is allowed in the tent. 11. All Crafts sold must be of hand-made quality and not be novelty items. If any vendor is found selling such products, they will be asked that such products be removed from table(s) and not sold for the remainder of the festival. Failure to comply with the rules and regulations of the Craft Tent may result in escorted removal from the premises for the remainder of the festival weekend and no refund will be allowed for space rental, buttons, etc. If you have any questions call me Lois Taylor, at (706)843-9199 or ((207) 946-7079 a week before and during the festival.
